Art for Ransom
September 12th, 2009
This is a new spin on art benefit, some people don't get it, but it will definitely be a rare experience; think happening. Public art around the city has been kidnapped from view, wrapped up in black plastic and barrier tape. Artworks on loan from benevolent artists will be concealed from view at the party until the ransom is met. One of my works was chosen for "premier placement"... I'm not really sure what that means, but I'm looking forward to finding out:
This Saturday!
6pm-10pm
@ Redline
2350 Arapahoe St, Denver, CO
Admission is $5 and benefits Redline Art Laboratory and Artstreet~!
The other event I'll be participating in is the Longmont ArtLink, coming up on September 18th. 6pm-9pm.
My work is hanging at Sun Rose Café 379 Main St. Longmont, CO. I still have to put labels up. That should happen this week. Artlink is an event when businesses and galleries stay open late and artists throng in the streets, disrupting traffic. Well, maybe not quite that exciting. I'll be a fixture in the cafe, probably looking out of place, purposeless and socially akward!
My husband is taking the kids for a walk. This is my opportunity to paint. Ciao!
